Our Work
Habitat home ownership is a hand up, not a handout
Habitat is not a giveaway program. Partner families pay Habitat through a no-profit, no-interest loan, an investment of “sweat equity,” and participation in education related to budgeting and home maintenance. The payments made by partner families are then reinvested into the program to serve more families in need of safe, decent, affordable housing.
Affordable home ownership isn’t just about four walls and a roof; it’s about dignity, belonging, and creating a stable foundation for generations to thrive. The ripple effect it has on communities—better health outcomes, stronger schools, more engaged citizens—is powerful.
HFHGLMW isn’t just constructing homes—you’re building legacies of equity, resilience, and care. 🛠️🌱 The zero-interest mortgage and income-based payments remove one of the biggest barriers to home ownership, and your emphasis on energy efficiency ensures families have healthy, sustainable spaces to grow in.
